New Queen... QFTD98

Here are my two cards for the Queen this week! I think they would both be considered one layer cards. You can see the cards I was inspired by in the background.

Here is the link to the Queen for the Day Challenge. I hope you can come play along!

Faux tearing with butterflies

I wanted to make a really clean and simple card and I wanted to give faux tearing a try. This is a one layer card, with the butterflies and button added.

To make the stripe of color I tore tow pieces of paper and put them overtop my card so that only one stripe of my card was showing. I sponged 3 colors of ink - baja breeze, marina mist and crumb cake.

The butterflies are made with the beautiful wings embosslit and I layered them.

ONE LAYER!

This card was for Susan's one layer challenge to use repetition.

Yippee! I made a nice-looking one layer card (no other paper than just the card base!)
I thought I'd share it with you today.

I used my punch to cut out of a piece of paper and used that cut out shape to sponge a circle or a heart onto the card. So that they would look good overlapping I masked some of them.

I stamped over all that with these cute images and sentiment from Short & Sweet.

To finish the card I used a bit of ribbon and scored some lines on the bottom.

Thanks for looking. Have a great weekend!
