New Queen... QFTD110

Here are my two cards for the Queen for the Day Challenge...
Using my Awash with Flowers set and the sentiment from Easy Events.  I hand drew the flower stems.

Using the "telescoping image technique"  Really easy to do with framelits!
How many types of embellishments can you count?  Mini brads, clear rhinestone, button, twine, ribbon.
I used two retiring backgrounds - Medallion and French Filigree.
The layout of this card comes from Pals Paper Arts

Some favorite blog challenges

I haven't had a chance to play along with any challenges recently. Organizing the Queen Challenge has kept me busy with that so that I don't spend nearly as much time playing in other challenges. I made an effort tonight just to have some fun stamping time to play some challenges that I've been missing.

I combined two of my favorite challenges for this card. Create, Ink! ColorLab Color Challenge #43 - not quite navy, riding hood red, early espresso. I knew this would be a great combo!
I used the layout from my Clean & Simple Stamping - Fall to Layout #143.

I thought I'd try out Awash with Flowers. I doodled the stem and used alternating red and blue. I've neglected this sentiment and it was the perfect size and shape for this sketch. I did some cutting out of the box with the sentiment and flower, added some piercing, embossing, punches and a baker's twine bow.

Spring Awash

I combined the layout and the colors from this week at Splitcoast. This card also works for this week's Stampin' Royalty theme - SPRING!

The stamp sets I used - Awash with Flowers, Four Frames and Hodgepodge Happiness.

Before & After - Awash

I've finally been able to get time to do a challenge today, so I combined a few!
This card is for 3 challenges.
The sketch is from Splitcoast Stampers from yesterday - SC283.
I used an inspiration from Pals Paper Arts - you can check out the photo I was inspired by on their post.
The other challenge was from the Splitcoast Fan Club to make a minimal card and make another one and step-it-up a bit.

This is the first "minimal" card. I used Awash with Flowers and stamped the image twice to get a larger flower. I used a bit of striped kraft patterned paper, kraft ribbon and some distressing.

For the second card I added a few things...

I watercolored all the flowers (WOW what a difference that makes!!!) I added a filigree brad in the flower. I added piercing and one layer of color as a mat.
I also added some soft suede paper and texturz embossed the green.

I like the second "stepped up" card 100% better!

2 for 1 Awash - Just Add Ink!

I found this wonderful color combination challenge at Just Add Ink. It's a great website with great tips and a weekly challenge.

The color combination is Pretty in Pink, Ruby Red, Soft Suede, So Saffron. I loved it so much, I made 2 cards! I decided to keep a common theme with piercing, brads, Awash with Flowers and Woodgrain stamp set on both cards.

Stamp sets: Awash with Flowers, Sprinkles, Sincere Salutations, Woodgrain
Dress it up: Distressing, piercing, brads, cut out flower

This card uses a layout from Clean & Simple Stamping. I love the layout every Friday!
