Last 3 Christmas cards 2013

Yippee!!!! I am so excited!  I finished my Christmas cards for this year!
I looked back over my stash and I made over 45 unique Christmas card designs this year.  I started in July.  I enjoyed it but am looking forward to doing some cards for something other than Christmas!

New Queen... QFTD141

Here's the card I made for our Queen this week.
I hope you come play along with the Queen for the Day Challenge.

I cut out around the image and then put the black and green layers and ribbon behind it.

Blue & Gold Chickadee

I made this card for 3 challenges...
The challenge at The Paper Players was to use gold or silver.  I embossed the bird image, the sentiment and the edges with gold.
Which fit right in with the technique at Splitcoast to emboss the edges.  I used a versamark pen around the edge of the kraft paper and embossed it.  I also sponged with blue.  The sentiment is popped up over the decorative label punch and I added two pearls.
I got the layout from Sketch Frenzy Friday.

I am submitting this card for the design team tryout at The Paper Players.

Chickadee Layered Framelits Retro

This card is for two "retro" challenges.
The "retro" color challenge at Splitcoast.  I used the colors Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade and Basic Gray.

The layout comes from Retrosketches.

I used two edgelits and two framelits and the die "little leaves".
I just love this chickadee image!

Chickadee sketch frenzy

Another Christmas card!  This one made with the Beautiful Season stamp set.  I used the layout from Sketch Frenzy Friday.

The technique challenge today was to layer scallops!  I glued two onto my soft suede background panel and then embossed it.  Then I glued two more overtop.

I sponged and pierced and ripped!  The sentiment is also colored in suede and green.

Why, oh, why can't I get better photos?

New Queen... QFTD136

This card was inspired by our Queen this week.  Come play along with the Queen for the Day Challenge on Splitcoast.

First I stamped the background wheel with crumb cake ink on the same color paper.  I stamped one tree with versamark and embossed white.  I stamped two trees with soft suede and I inked all the edges.
The sentiment (from Beautiful Season) and Four Frames is punched out and popped up and accented with pearls.

Chickadee - boho poinsettia

This card is for the layout at Sketch Frenzy Friday.
I colored the image with gray ink, except the chickadee in black so it would stand out!
I used a circle die and apothecary accent framelit die.

I made the poinsettia from just the boho blossoms punch - middle sided flower.  I cut slits in the red one and then cut some more red ones in half with slits to layer behind the first one.  For the petals I just cut slits in the green one to the very middle so there would be separate pieces.  I added some pearls in the center.

Dynamic Duo - tryout

I had lots of fun today making cards!  I made 3 for Dynamic Duos!  Their current color challenge = Cherry Cobbler + pick your own color.  I did Cherry Cobbler with Basic Gray (and some white)

This is the first time I've used this image from the Serene Silhouettes set.  I colored it with cherry and gray and punched out in a circle.  I popped it up and layered it on a shape from Apothecary Accents framelits.  I used another apothecary accent shape, embossed it and made a banner.  I made the corners using scallop square punch.  Added some twine and bling!

They are having a design team tryout right now.  I've never been on a design team and I'd LOVE to.  And I love the dynamic duos challenge.  They have great color combos every Saturday.
The design team tryout challenge was to make cards using two of their past color combos.
For this card I chose Lucky Limeade and Black (#20).  I made a gate-fold card and the image is only attached to the left side so the card can "swing" open.

For this card I chose the color combo #19 -Cajun Craze and Always Artichoke to make this a Christmas card!  I sponged the cajun using a mat made from a framelit.  I added some piercing around and some ribbon.  The main image is stamped in artichoke (and I added some extra color to the berries).  I stamped the chickadee in black and cut it out and popped it up overtop so it would really stand out!

Mustard and Gold - Evergreen

Today I finally MADE A CARD!  I found a NEW blog challenge today and thought I'd try it out.

The layout comes from the brand new Fab Friday blog.
To find some colors to go with it I searched through some other blog challenges and found this at Just Add Ink - MUSTARD and METAL!

I used my favorite set "Evergreen" with the colors More Mustard and can you believe it - Summer Starfruit!!!!  With some black I think this makes a great color combo (and something a little different).  I stamped the trees with the two colors and then versamark with the outline image and embossed the trees and both sentiments in gold.  The sentiments are from the set "Beautiful Season".
The oval with clip is popped up.

I added a decorative edge (framelit) and some piercing.  I'm quite happy with how this turned out and I continue to LOVE this versatile stamp set (I even used it for a Christmas card this time!)

Create with Connie & Mary x2

I made these 2 cards for challenges at Create with Connie and Mary.

This card uses the layout #203.
I used two of the new In Colors - Raspberry Ripple and Primrose Petals.  I also used Blushing Bride and Crumb Cake.

I used the colors from #202 - Pool Party, Poppy Parade, Black and a neutral (crumb cake).
This layout is from Freshly Made Sketches.  When I found this layout and put it together with these colors I knew I wanted to use this set, even though I don't really want to make Christmas cards yet, this set is just perfect for this.

By the way, I used my NEW black ink pad and it works fabulously!  I am really pleased.  Stampin' Up! is making all new stamp pads.  I think they are a lot better.  So far I have black and chocolate chip, but I'm sure I will be getting more!

I also got the In Color inks for the first time ever.  I decided to get the markers.  Then I have matching ink for the paper.  Very fun!

New Queen... QFTD105

I made these two cards for our Queen this week - Queen Korin (sweetnsassystamps). Please come join us and play along at the Queen for the Day Challenge.
I used patterned paper and crimped them.  The images are from "Starring You" and I added 4 brads.  The colors are Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, green and orange.

I used the layout this week from Splitcoast.  I inked the whole chickadee image in black, stamped it off onto patterned paper, then inked just the chickadee again in black and stamped, then cut out with my framelit die.
I hope this looks not too much like a Christmas card, and can be used as a birthday card!

Christmas chickadee

I made this card for today's layout on Splitcoast.

I got to use some of my new goodies - ribbon, Tasteful Trim die and neutrals patterned paper.

I stamped in soft suede and sponged around it. I stamped another chickadee and cut it out and popped it up.

The ribbon is just looped around and glued together with a button on top.
