New Queen... QFTD103

Here are my cards for this week's Queen...
Come play along with the Queen for the Day Challenge on Splitcoast...

I used the colors - river rock, lucky limeade, and garden green! I stamped in WHITE. I layered framelits and popped up the embossed oval.

The deer image is punched out with an oval and layered onto the embossed frame (debossed side). I trimmed the swirly edges of and it makes a really cool embossed rectangle!!

I stamped the saying and masked the area to stamp over with woodgrain. I added the lines on either side of the sentiment.

Bundle of BOY

In need of a baby card!

I used the technique lover's challenge on Splitcoast to make a card using one color of ink and not coloring in the image. I used Not Quite Navy ink for the bear and sentiment and the doodling.

I also did the Stampin' Royalty challenge - dressing down (not use embellishments). It was hard. In my learning as a card-maker I have grown to love and appreciate embellishments as they add that extra special something to a card. I found this a challenge to NOT use ANY! So I tried to compensate by using lots of punches, framelits, embossing, patterned paper and doodling!

The bear image is from "Bundle of Joy" and the sentiment is from "Four Square". Both are retired Stampin' Up! sets that I thought I'd play with today.

Goody-Goody Gumdrops baby

I made this card using 2 challenges.

Stamping 411 - colors - melon mambo, wild wasabi, black and pink pirouette. I thought these would make a nice baby girl card since I am all out of baby cards!

The layout is from Sketch Frenzy Friday.

I paper pieced the duck. I scored my pink panel and along the edge of the card.
For the "bow" I made of loop of the ribbon and tied it together with linen thread.

Triple Punch Borders

The colors are from Pals Paper Arts - use always artichoke, lucky limeade and color of your choice - I chose soft suede and vanilla.

I wanted to try a different way of using the blossom bouquet triple layer punch. I used the largest piece and a middle piece. The whole background piece is embossed.

Not sure if this would qualify as masculine or if it looks too flowery.

Triple Blossom Bouquet - Watermelon

I made this card with a bunch of punches!
I found some colors - this cheerful color combo from Stampin' Royalty - Lucky Limeade, Daffodil Delight, Cherry Cobbler
I modified a layout from Clean & Simple - Fall-to-Layout 176.

I wanted to show the versatility of the blossom bouquet triple layer punch. I used it for the border and also for the watermelon seeds. I used two sizes of ovals also for the watermelon piece. I popped the watermelon up on dimensionals.

The patterned paper is the pack you can get for Sale-a-Bration! The sentiment is from a retired SU! set "Lots of Thoughts"

Coral Framed Flower

I felt like making a card today. I found this layout from Sketch Frenzy Friday. When I saw the layout I thought I would like to do something with a frame and my triple blossom bouquet punch and some patterned paper. I found a piece of patterned paper and decided to try coral and white and found that it matches really well with soft suede!

For the flower I punched several layers of coral and patterned papers using all 3 settings of the punch and then attached with a brad. I crumpled all the inner layers.

Watercolor Wheat

Here is my card for the Clean & Simple design team tryout. We were to make an encouragement card for someone with a nature theme.

I watercolored the background with aqua painter and then wet my stamp and used watercolor wonder crayons to stamp with.

I did the panels crooked on purpose. I topped this off with a button and some embossing. I really like how it turned out. I think it would make a great guy card!

Cupcake with Framelits

I made this for the color challenge today - Pretty in Pink, Pink Pirouette and Basic Gray.

My favorite part is the scoring detail in the corners!

I got to use my new framelits and embossing folders. I cut the framelit so that it was behind the gray strip and could be bigger.

New Queen... QFTD100

We have reached week 100 at the Queen for the Day Challenge! Here are my two cards for Queen Lydia. Come play along with the Queen for the Day Challenge.

For this card I used 2 new things! My embossing folders (I inked it with sponging) and my framelits! I actually cut this medium sized one in half and used it in the background. I also used Tasteful Trim die and texture. I also added free hand dots.

For this card I used french foliage. I colored with two colors of marker and stamped on yellow paper. I stamped the script overtop (kind of hard to see). Then I cut out the leaves and sponged the edges and crumpled them. I also crumpled the 3 borders. The background is stamped with Woodgrain.

Pastel Puppy Scene

I was inspired by a card where the person combined this tree image and the dog image. What a great idea! I stamped with versamark and then added pastels.

There are actually 4 stamp sets used on this card - D is for Dog, Nature Silhouettes, Woodgrain, Four Frames.

I also used my BRAND NEW framelits shapes! Yippee. What fun!!

The colors on here are crumb cake, choc chip, lucky limeade (distressed) and pear pizazz.

Happy Birthday - I lick you a lot!

This card is for my husband's birthday - TODAY! Happy birthday!
He loves dogs and he loves jokes on his cards, so this is what I made for him. I hope he likes it. I tried to use more "masculine" type colors.

Family Collage

After making the collages for the kids (which I'm going to print out as 8X10 and then frame). I decided to make a picture for my husband to put up at his work. I'm going to make this an 8x10 too and frame it. I'll give this one to him and the other to my kids for Valentine's Day (along with chocolate and a card). Hope they like them. I had fun making them. I made them with My Digital Studio.
