New Queen.. QFTD119

I made these two cards for our Queen this week!
Please come play along with the Queen for the Day Challenge here.
I tried to make this a masculine card.  Can be used for a few different occasions.
I used the embossing frame (the back side) and put the puched sentiment with brads overtop.
I also used gray textured paper!

I cut the framelit shape into 3 sections and then embossed with the rose folder.  Then I spread out the sections a bit on the larger pink framelit.
I tried to make one of Mary's signature bows!  I folded the ribbon in 3 (like a z shape), opened the brad all the way and put it around the ribbon and squeezed shut.

3 Framelits - Masculine

Just wanted to share another card I made this morning.  I thought it turned out really well and was worthy of a blog post!

The challenge at Twisted Tuesdays was Red Hot Summer.

I used 3 framelit shapes (from Apothecary Accents) in two colors of red - Real Red and Cherry Cobbler.  I stamped the image and cut out with a circle die.  Added some twine and voila!  Really easy and I think makes a really super masculine card.  I always seem short of good masculine cards in my stash!

Argyle Quilt Silhouette Shadow

I just love this stamp set - its so versatile to use with so many techniques!  And these framelits also!

The colors today at Splitcoast were Pool Party, Island Indigo and white.  I stamped the flower image twice in the lighter blue, then stamped overtop with the darker blue (slightly off).  So it gives a neat shadow look.

I was inspired by the challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  I punched some squares and embossed them onto my white paper with the argyle embossing folder.

I used a part of this apothecary framelit shape and layered it with a blue one.  At the bottom edge I put my dotted scallop ribbon punched border and some white ribbon.

Especially for You Leaves

I made this card for two challenges.

The colors are from Dynamic Duos - River Rock and Always Artichoke and I used Very Vanilla as a neutral.
The layout is from Just Add Ink.

I used "French Foliage" and "Made for You".
Did some ripping and used a piece of linen thread.

New Queen... QFTD118

I made these two cards for the Queen for the Day Challenge.
This first card uses "Serene Silhouettes".  I cut off the sides of the framelit.

This second card uses "Blooming with Kindness" and piercing!

I hope you come take a look at the Queen for the Day Challenge and join us!

Layered Framelits

This card is for 2 challenges.
Layout at Freshly Made Sketches.  This first card shows without the banner.  The last card in this post shows with the banner added.  It adds a nice touch I think.
The colors are from Stampin' Royalty - Pool Party, More Mustard, Island Indigo and Old Olive.
I used old olive in the tree image.
I did a WHOOPS.  I reached for the wrong In Color blue.  I used Midnight Muse instead of Island Indigo, but since the colors are fairly similar, I thought I'd still post this.

I layered 3 framelits to make this fun frame
I used the Labels Collection for the image and the same size in blue and just offset behind.  Then I used two from the Apothecary Accents in More Mustard.  I cut one in half and put each half on either side of the long, narrow one.  I think this makes a stunning frame!
The framelits are so useful!
The images are from "Serene Silhouettes" and the "Easy Events".  I also used rhinestones and Midnight Muse ribbon and the argyle embossing folder.
Having lots of fun with new stuff!

Happy Birthday car

This card was made for a color challenge and a layout.
The layout is from Techno Stamper.
The colors on Splitcoast today are: Choc Chip, Tangerine Tango, Always Artichoke.
A really different color combo that I would not have tried.
I like how this turned out though.  These colors make a great masculine card.

I used stampin dimensionals on the image so that the presents and balloons would pop up a bit.  I put brads in the tires.

Summer Afternoon 1

Playing with my fun new stuff!
Stamp Set: Summer Afternoon (hostess set!)
New Framelits die, argyle embossing folder, finishing touches edgelit and ribbon!

I used watercolor paper, blender pens and SU markers to color my image.  I also stamped the rabbit twice and paper pieced it.

The colors and layout I came up with on my own!  I used Sahara Sand, Midnight Muse, Basic Gray (and watercolor paper and white for the one rabbit).

New QUeen.. QFTD117

Here are the 2 cards I made for this week's Queen.  You can find the Queen for the Day Challenge here.
I used my new stamp sets Serene Silhouettes and Blooming with Kindness.  New finishing touches edgelit and argyle embossing folder.

This card uses Serene Silhouettes and Made for You stamp sets!  I did the Spotlight technique and I pierced around the circle with the new piercing template.  Fun new ribbon!

Hit the Road and Celebrate!

Here's my second card with this new stamp set!  I was inspired by the colors of my son's clothes this morning!  Bright blue and yellow and light gray.  I used Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Sahara Sand and white.  I never used to like Sahara Sand, but it is becoming one of my go-to-colors!

This is for the challenge at Twisted Tuesday.  To use something clear.  You might not be able to tell from the picture, but the car is embossed with clear embossing powder.  The challenge was also to use some favorites.  I used one of my favorite embossing folders (houndsooth), mini brads which are my newly discovered favorite embellishment, and Baker's Twine.  It's always a favorite to use NEW stuff and I got this stamp set yesterday!

I wanted to make a versatile guy card.  I thought this could be for birthday, grad, or other special occasions.  It's definitely a fun and versatile stamp set.

I used my ticket corner punch on the corners and brads in each corner.  I used my scoring tool on the yellow banner.  The sentiment is colored in black and blue.

Gray & Pink Automatic Friends

I got a new stamp set today!  "Road to Happiness".  A very fun set with lots of potential!
I definitely recommend using the stamp-a-ma-jig to get the placement of the images right.
I got this set in wood mount because then the images are permanently mounted and easier to use with the stamp-a-ma-jig.

I used two embossing folders, part of the Top Note die, some ribbon behind the vanilla layer and the word window punch for the sentiment.

The colors are from Dynamic Duos.  Basic Gray & Regal Rose.

Laughter

I made this card for 3 challenges!
I found two new blog challenges.
The layout comes from - Retro Sketches
The colors are from - The Paper Players - lucky limeade, melon mambo, basic gray
The Technique Challenge on Splitcoast today was to use half.  I used half of my Top Note die and cut my decorative label punch and used only part of it on each side of the sentiment.

This is the first time I've used this sentiment.  It's from the set "Word Play".  The little bird is from "Wild About You".  I thought these colors were so cheerful and with this layout it would be the perfect time to use this sentiment.

Clock Frenzy

I made this card for the layout at Sketch Frenzy Friday.
I got the idea for the colors from looking at the new catalogue. The colors are Real Red, Calypso Coral and Island Indigo.

The image is from "Easy Events".  I paper pieced the bird (very tiny cutting!!!)
I used texture on the 3 red pieces and I used my scoring for the lines on the white.
For layering the framelits I cut 2 of the same size framelit shape in blue and then offset them slightly behind the main one.

This is one of my favorite images from this set.  I wasn't sure what sentiment to put with this card, so I left it off for now.  I can always add one later, or even on the inside.

New Queen... QFTD116

Here are the two cards I made for the Queen this week.  I hope you come play along with the Queen for the Day Challenge that I host on Splitcoast Stampers.  You can find the direct link to this week's Queen here.

For this first card I cut out the rose 3 times and popped it up.  I also tried to color it a bit with maker.
The colors are Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla and Always Artichoke.
I used French Foliage for the leaves.

This card is also for the challenge at Twisted Tuesday.  To use a bit of purple and Baker's Twine.
I used embossing, pearls and twine.  I also drew some x's.

Welcome Little One - double challenge

I made this card for two challenges:
Color Challenge - at Create with Connie & Mary.  Early Espresso, Wisteria Wonder, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade.
Layout - at Stampin' Royalty

I wanted to use my somewhat neglected Four Frames set.  It works so perfectly with fabulous phrases.

The "welcome" is cut out and popped up.  I added two mini brads to the frame.
I textured the two pieces of brown with different embossing folders and I textured the leaves as well.
I'm really happy with how this turned out.  A bit of a non-traditional type baby card, but I love it.

Fresh Congrats

This layout is from Freshly Made Sketches.
I want some more baby cards for my stash.  I decided to use Easy Events and the sentiment from Something to Celebrate.  The duck image is stamped 3 times, once as the base, once punched out in a circle and popped up and once on blue.  I cut out and paper pieced the hat and umbrella.
I chose the colors based on this piece of patterned paper and I wanted to add yellow to match the duck and my ribbon.

My first "Angry Birds" card

I have been admiring the angry birds cards I've seen out there.  I finally decided to try to make my own.  I decided to start with the "pig" as I thought it would be easier.  All I used were circle punches and then I drew with black marker.  I tried to copy what the pig looks like on the game as closely as I could.

Both my husband and my dad love angry birds and their Father's Day presents are angry birds t-shirts, so when I was thinking of which Father's Day card to give them, I knew this would be the perfect choice.

I think I'll be trying to make more of these to sell.  Maybe I'll try some of the other characters.

Simple saying

I used the layout from Techno Stamper and tweaked it a bit to fit.
I made this card for Father's Day.  I tried to make it look very simple and masculine.

3 Punched Cards

This card uses the bird punch, paper daisies and boho blossoms punch, little leaves die, edgelits and the cupcake punch to sponge the clouds.  This is the card we'll be making at my group meeting this afternoon.
The layout comes from Stamping 411.

For this card I wanted to show the cupcake punch used in a different way.  I made a layered ice cream cone - yummy!
This card uses the layout from Freshly Made Sketches.

This card shows one of my favorite ways to use the bird punch!  To make a candle!
It also uses the modern label punch.
