Inspired Flutter

This butterfly card was inspired by Karen's beautiful card seen here. The layout and elements are her ideas.

I used the lovely Thoroughly Modern DSP and a fun piece of hardware for my ribbon. I used the BIG SHOT for the Top Note die, butterfly die and embossing folder.

I did a row of piercing along the outside layers and I embossed the butterfly and highlighted a few spots with white gel pen.

Paper Piecing and Patterned Paper!

This layout is from Diva Coffee Break Designs.
I used a retired SU set "And Many Mower". It's my favorite set to paper piece! I used designer papers - To the Nines and Kraft. The whole golfer panel is popped up with Stampin Dimensionals.


I paper pieced the whole golfers outfit. How you do this?: Stamp the image on the piece of paper you want to be your main image (in this case Kraft). Stamp the same image on any other colors/patterns you want for part of the image (Kraft grid and chocolate chip). Cut out the parts of the image you want in a different color and glue to the main image (hat, shirt, shorts, shoes).

I also used a white gel pen to highlight the golf ball.

Short and Sweet - a tiny layout

I absolutely love this Short & Sweet set. The sentiments are so great and go with any other set. I love the cute little images too, but often find them hard to use. Mary Jo from Technostamper had a great layout this week that I immediately thought of this set.



I used circle, heart and horizontal slot punches and corner rounder. The paper is Thoroughly Modern DSP. I embellished with a clear rhinestone and two ribbons.

Sweetheart - original

When I was debating getting the Sweetheart stamp set I really wanted to make sure I could make cards (and scrapbook pages) that would be fun and I didn't want to get bored of the set. I finally decided to get it to go with the treat cups. Here are two original projects I created using the Sweetheart stamp set...

For the sunflower I only inked one part of the stamp - just one leaf. I stamped in a circle with yellow. I then made two masks and stamped in orange. For the center I cut out one larger circle and a bunch of small circles with my crop a dile.

The panel in the background is texturz embossed with the Big Shot. I used a bit of Chocolate Chip tafetta ribbon and I distressed the edges of one of my layers. Here's the close up...



Colors: Pumpkin Pie, Summer Sun, Creamy Caramel, Chocolate Chip, Vanilla

I wanted to make another original card, still using that same part of the stamp. I was going to make another flower, but when I had it part-way stamped it reminded me of a peacock. So I punched a few shapes - circle, word window and boho blossoms to finish this off as a peacock. I cut around the stamped part and popped it up on the panel.



I embossed the background with texturz and my Big Shot. I used a tag die cut to put the ribbon on for a Stampin' Addicts sketch.



Colors: Almost Amythyst, Lavender Lace, Certainly Celery, Very Vanilla, Black

Watercolor Wonder Class Part 3

This is the 3rd card for the Watercolor Wonder Crayons class. For this card I used the technique Crayon Resist. I stamped my image, used a white crayon and then sponged. Then you buff the color off the image and the white highlights show up!

All supplies Stampin' Up!: Embrace Life (flower), Short & Sweet (sentiment), Top Note die cut, Big Shot, horizontal slot punch, old olive satin ribbon, black gingham ribbon, word window punch, modern label punch.

Watercolor Wonder Class Part 2

This is the second card for my Watercolor Wonder Crayon Class. This technique is to wet the stamp, then use the crayon directly on the stamp.

I'm using quite a few new supplies - Tart & Tangy and Sweetheart stamp sets, Real Red and Chocolate Chip ribbon. Yum - chocolate dipped strawberry!

Very clean and simple layout and I did a bit of piercing in the corner.

Watercolor Wonder Class Part 1

Here's the first card for my Watercolor Wonder Crayons Class. This card uses the crayons to watercolor the image with the aqua painter!



I used a flower embossing folder for the background and a few layers. My favorite part (other than the cute frog image from A Flower for All Seasons) is the glitter around the edge of the image. I hardly ever use glitter and am so glad I did here, it adds such a fun touch!

Clean & Simple inspiration challenge from Splitcoast Stampers and Fall To Layout from Clean&Simple Stamping.

I shadow stamped the tree image by stamping first in white, then lining the image up with Stamp A Ma Jig and stamping with a different color. Here's the close up...



I chose the colors Old Olive and Ballet Blue with white and I think they look great together (and I used to HATE green/blue combinations together!) I ripped some edges, added 2 ribbons and some butterflies from Beautiful Wings Embosslit.

I even decorated the inside to match!
